- 51 Web Apps for Web Designers and Developers – Web.AppStorm – HUGE list of apps. Nice to see Aviary make the cut – it is an awesome and powerful suite. Not sure why CrazyEgg didn’t make it, but it was mentioned in the comments.
- What You Need to Know About Page Fold | ClearType Press – Building a Better Government Web – Excellent article translating the “fold” from newspapers to digital. I will argue that there is no fold (spoon either) and that the average user will start scrolling without even being aware of it. - 5 Rules To Write More Readable CSS Files – woorkup.com – Interesting article. I know my code is a mess because I list my CSS horizontally. For some reason I find it easier to scan across the page than to scroll through lines and lines of blocked-out code. I may try this on my next project though.
- 10 Best Content Management Systems for Designers | Web Design Ledger – Any “10 Best” list will have some people disagreeing with your list – but this is a good round-up of CMS that most may develop with. I’m partial to WordPress, but have happily used Joomla & Drupal in the past. Will be checking out ModX (from comments) and ExpressionEngine soon.
- Creative Corner: My Favorite Firefox Tool | Minervity – Really nice article to see what other designers are using out there to enhance their development with Firefox
